TFS Integrator v1.1 Released

May 23, 2007 at 3:49 pm | In Readify, Team Foundation Server |

Fellow Readifyian Chris Burrows has been working hard on the latest version of TFS Integrator - a continuous integration and dependency replication service for TFS.

The biggest feature that I’ve been waiting for in this release is the CI & dependency replication configuration files are now stored in source control. That means that you don’t have to have file share / console access to the server running TFS integrator - you can do everything from the comfort of Visual Studio Team Explorer.

And the second biggest feature is that it now comes with a setup program - no more “tfsintegrator.exe -i” from the command prompt.

If you’re wondering “What is Dependency Replication?“, have a look at Mitch’s blog post on the subject.

Basically if you have a Common.dll that is shared with multiple projects, TFS Integrator can build that, then check the output into the other projects and see if they build. So if you introduce something into Common.dll that breaks a dependent app - then you’ll know about it much quicker.
