Tega Tech Australia LogoToday, I’m a very happy man. My Fujitsu Lifebook T4215 Convertible tablet arrived. This is all thanks to a wonderfully helpful man called Hugo Ortega (blog) who is a Tablet PC MVP and runs his own company Tega Tech Australia.

Hugo tells me that I have one of the first 20 Vista-loaded Lifebooks in the country. If you want a good overview of the T4215 checkout the InkShow on GottaBeMobile.com.

Here’s some photos:

A new job at Readify

February 17, 2007 at 2:58 am | In Readify | 1 Comment

Although not official yet, very soon I start a new job. It’s still with Readify of course, but instead of consulting to customers – Readify will be my customer. As Darren put it when he moved into the management team – I’m now an overhead.

My new role will see me driving Readify’s infrastructure forward to show people that we really are Technical Readiness Specialists.

It’s an exceptionally exciting and demanding role that will allow me to get a broader coverage of Microsoft technologies and pave the way for future growth for the company.

Don’t fret about my TFS involvement. I’m still going to run the Canberra VSTS User Group that I started last month and the OzTFS.com mailing list. I don’t intend to fall off this wagon, as I’ll be using it to manage some of my work – a help desk jobs/tickets system, if you like.

The most exciting oppurtunity is that I get to learn how to become a Virtual Worker and work from home. I’ve been reading Darren’s, Graeme’s, Mitch’s, Andrew Ball’s and Andrew Parsons’s thoughts on this and will shortly have my own experiences for all to see.

Basic, Standardised, Rationalised, Dynamic

I will be taking Readify on the Microsoft Infrastructure Optimisation Journey. This is a part of the Dynamic Systems Initiative (DSI) which is a part of Microsoft’s Vision for the Agile Business.  It’s all about providing our people with a platform so that they can continue to do great things and giving the business a platform to grow with.
