Seeing as we’re having a swinging competition, here’s my contribution from Windows Vista’s System Performance Rating screen. (Press WinKey+PauseBreak)

Sorry to break the news to you Geoff, but I don’t think 5 is the maximum – maybe it’s opened ended so it copes with lots of new hardware.

No doubt Mitch will beat us all given enough time to get his new laptop.

  1. That’s really interesting Grant. I need to find out how these numbers are calculated - and I’m not just trying to win a schoolboy competition here, but seriously, what makes your 1 gig beat my gig and half?

  2. the top rating is 10 the overall performance is absed on ur lowes score e.g. my video card is 8800GTX and gives 7,3 but my CPU gives 4,1 so overall is 4,1 :)

  3. ram has speed as well as the amount, if its 1gig of high speed ram it will beat 1.5 of low speed ram
